  •  Fight loneliness.  Meditation may reduce your anxiety and depression according to researchers.  A study revealed that men who are suffering from depression are more than twice as likely to develop heart disease as guys who aren't depressed.
  •  Take the stairs.  Studies show that walking strengthen the heart, increase blood circulation, and deliver oxygen and nutrients more effectively in the body.  Walking pushes the heart to pump more blood.  A steady routine such as walking for at least thirty minutes for five or more days a week is recommended to develop a good and healthy lifestyle.  According to a small study at the University of Tennessee people who walked an extra four thousand to five thousand steps each day lowered their blood pressure by an average of eleven points.
  • Tea more.  An American Heart Association study found that men who drank two cups of tea a day were twenty-five percent less likely to die of heart disease than guys who rarely touched the stuff.  The main reason, tea not only improve the blood vessel's ability to relax, but also thin the blood which reduce clotting.
  • More water.  Drink five to more glass of water. Researchers found that drinking five or more 8-ounce glasses of water a day could help lower your risk of heart disease by up to sixty percent.

Garlic

  •  Eat garlic. It is one of foods good for the heart. In addition to reducing cholesterol and helping to fight off infection, eating garlic may help limit damage to your heart after a heart attack or heart surgery.  Researchers in India found that animals that were fed with garlic regularly had more heart-protecting antioxidants in their blood than animals that weren't.  It's a diet food.
  • Sodium intake.  A 20-year study in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that overweight men with the highest sodium chloride intakes were sixty-one percent more likely to die of heart disease than those with lower intakes.
  • Eat tuna. Research shows that tuna is high in protein. Consuming more protein may lower a man's risk of heart disease by nearly twenty-six percent.  Omega-3 fats in tuna also help strengthen heart muscle, lower blood pressure, and prevent clotting.
  • Benefits of dark chocolate.  Choose dark chocolate and decaffeinated drinks.  Cocoa contains flavonoids that thin the blood pressure and keep it from clotting.  Drinks that contain caffeine increase blood pressure by nearly four points, on top of speeding up your heart rate by an average of two beats per minute.  Studies showed that it's enough to push a borderline heart problem into the danger zone.  So next time go for decaffeinated drinks.
  • High cholesterol.  Fight cholesterol with fat.  A group of seventeen Australian men with high cholesterol swapped Macadamia nuts for fifteen percent of calories in their diets and their total cholesterol dropped by between three and five percent.  While their good cholesterol rose by nearly eight percent because the reason, macadamias are the best natural source of monounsaturated fat.
